Performance Improvement Intern

Our Lady of the Lake, Baton Rouge, LA
​During my internship at Our Lady of the Lake, I analyzed hospital workflows to identify opportunities for improving patient flow and operational efficiency, which contributed to enhanced patient care. I participated in strategy sessions and leadership meetings, gaining valuable insight into hospital management and quality improvement initiatives. I also took part in root cause analyses to help identify and address challenges affecting hospital processes. Additionally, I observed advanced medical technologies such as the ECMO machine and the da Vinci Surgical System. Working with the Infection Prevention team, I learned important standards for cleaning and sterilizing medical devices, deepening my understanding of hospital safety protocols. This experience strengthened my skills in process evaluation, teamwork, and healthcare operations while exposing me to advanced clinical environments.
Strength and Conditioning Intern / Powerlifting Coach
Catholic High School, Baton Rouge, LA
​Since June 2024, I have worked as an assistant powerlifting coach at Catholic High School and St. Joseph’s Academy in Baton Rouge, coaching both girls and boys to improve their strength, technique, and overall performance. This role has helped me develop my communication and teaching skills while mentoring youth in the community. Over the summer, I also assisted Catholic High School in running their strength and speed conditioning programs for various sports, leading workouts focused on enhancing athletes’ power, endurance, and agility. Working closely with student-athletes and coaching staff provided valuable experience in athletic training and program management. Overall, this position has been a rewarding opportunity to combine my passion for fitness with leadership development and community involvement.

LA Threaux, Gonzales, LA
As an Axepert at LA Threaux, I ensured a welcoming and enjoyable experience for customers through proactive engagement and attentive service. I was responsible for assembling and maintaining targets using specialized tools to keep operations running smoothly and safely. I actively connected with guests to ensure they had positive and satisfying visits. This role helped me develop strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Beyond work, being an Axepert also gave me a fun hobby outside of school, allowing me to connect with others who share my interests while gaining hands-on experience. I took pride in supporting both the operational side of the business and the customer experience to make each visit memorable.
